Companies say cost of using Big Data outweighs supply chain benefits

The high cost of using Big Data analytics is keeping companies from taking advantage of the technology for supply chains, according to the recent Economist Intelligence Unit report. Incorporating complex external data may be helpful for risk assessment, but is also more challenging, said Ken Waldie, the report's author. The survey found 60% of companies believe predictive analytics are beneficial, but the costs are higher than the benefits warrant.
