Confectionery's everyday sweet spot

Americans spend $95.64 annually on confectionery with 98% of households buying it, and the market is expected to grow by $6 billion, from the current $32.7 billion market, over the next five years, according to IRI. NCA's Larry Wilson and IRI's Larry Levin recently presented five things retailers should leverage to grow everyday candy sales. Attractive displays and in-store sampling to tap into nostalgia and emotions are just some of the ways retailers can increase candy purchases by consumers from every 16 days to every 15 days.
