If you're an underdog who has often faced challenges, your hardships can be an advantage to you in the workplace, writes Anna Akbari, a sociologist and serial entrepreneur. For example, underdogs are "scrappy" and not thrown by last-minute demands. Their everyday improvisations lead to "large-scale innovation, which transforms how we work and what we collectively produce," she writes.
