Ship builder recruits engineering students for Navy boat project

Commercial and military watercraft manufacturer Swiftships is enlisting some mechanical-engineering students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for help with an unmanned river boat project for use by the U.S. Navy. The university was tapped for the assignment after students developed the all-terrain CajunBot almost 10 years ago. "This is like having a job and going to class," student Brett Marks said, adding, "This will be our job."
