Study ties increased TV time to greater weight gain in youths

Every additional hour children and teens spent watching TV each day was associated with an approximately 0.1 point increase on the body mass index scale, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. Among girls in particular, watching DVDs and videos was linked to weight gain, researchers said.
