Luxury hotels make up big portion of new brands

Luxury chains are prominent in the 34 new hotel brands launched in the U.S. from January 2005 to October 2007, according to a new PricewaterhouseCoopers study. The report indicates 18 of the new concepts were in the luxury segment, and Atlanta has been the birthplace of its fair share, with five new brands starting in the city dating to 2004.
