Some travelers say they are booking tickets on foreign carriers for better customer service. Some observers note that U.S. airlines are catching up with their foreign competitors by adding perks in the coach cabin and in airport lounges. An aviation-industry advisory group notes that the amount of space in coach is virtually the same across domestic and foreign airlines.
