GAO audit of TARP expected to be critical

The first audit of the Treasury Department's $700 billion economic-rescue program is expected to criticize the program's implementation as well as certain aspects of the plan while taking into consideration how quickly it was developed. The audit, which was done by the Government Accountability Office, will be delivered to Congress on Tuesday.
