Western Colorado faces slowdown in natural-gas drilling

Western Colorado faces a drop in demand for natural gas and limited pipelines to transport the gas out of the Rocky Mountain region. Several gas companies are reconsidering expansion plans in 2009 after a boom in drilling over the past several years. The development of shale-gas fields east of the Rockies also presents an untapped market for gas companies.
