The best way to get people into aviation? Flying clubs

Robert Goyer, editor in chief of Flying magazine, thinks flying clubs are crucial for getting more people interested in aviation and praises AOPA's initiatives to expand them. "A good flying club ... gives a pilot everything that he or she needs and it does so very cost effectively," Goyer explains. Clubs give their members "quality instruction, decent airplanes that are available and affordable, easy scheduling and a sense of community."
