Calif. city council considers contracting police from county

The Baldwin Park, Calif., City Council voted unanimously against raising taxes to cover long-term police pensions and retiree medical benefits. Also, the council is considering a contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for policing needs. The city is analyzing the cost of contracting out policing services, but some residents have expressed disapproval of eliminating the Police Department.
