FPL, Progress Energy nuclear cost-recovery plans get PSC approval

Nuclear project cost-recovery proposals from Progress Energy Florida and Florida Power & Light secured the Florida Public Service Commission's approval. The ruling would allow Progress Energy and FPL to recoup $143 million and $151 million, respectively, in costs. FPL is considering construction of two AP1000 reactors at its Turkey Point facility, while Progress Energy plans to develop two units at its Levy County site.
