USPSTF advises hepatitis C screening for baby boomers

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force on Monday advised primary care physicians to consider hepatitis C screening for adults born between 1945 and 1965, and it said those with a history of IV drug use or blood transfusions prior to 1992 should be tested. The draft recommendations were an update to the group's 2004 statement and urge screening for all high-risk adults.
