Mobile-application development is responsible for the creation of half a million U.S. jobs over the past five years, according to this article, and pay levels are increasing as demand for talent and use of mobile devices rises. Some say the app economy could play help improve the federal trade deficit. "There is unprecedented opportunity for America to capitalize on exploding international markets," Peter Farago of Flurry told a House subcommittee in September.
