Companies shift toward more employee choice on voluntary benefits

Companies are increasingly retreating from providing a set group of voluntary insurance benefits and are instead offering more choice. Employees may be overwhelmed by the selections, but many employers and benefits organizations offer tools to help make the right choice, and employees will likely find that even if their employer doesn't help with the premiums for voluntary products, the plans are cost-effective.
