Concrete-reinforced Calif. bridge to mark 100 years of existence

The Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena, Calif., will turn 100 years old on Dec. 13. Its 11 "colossal arches," reminiscent of an ancient Roman aqueduct, are a key feature of the bridge that is nearly 1,468 feet long. The bridge was constructed using 11,000 cubic yards of concrete and 600 tons of steel reinforcement, according to this article.
