Helping students understand the American Revolution

Providing students with historical context of the American Revolutionary War can be a challenge because of the amount of information available. In this blog post, history teachers Jody Passanisi and Shara Peters outline an approach that first provides students with contextual ideas and events to help them understand the background of the war and its causes. The unit also aims to help shape students' understanding of the perspectives of historical characters of that time.
