Obese women show higher inflammatory protein concentrations

A study in the journal BMC Endocrine Disorders found that fat tissues secrete the allograft inflammatory factor 1 protein and that obese female respondents had higher concentrations of it than their normal-weight counterparts. Researchers also found that the protein was associated with insulin resistance.
