Researcher envisions antibacterial gowns, linens in hospitals

Bulgarian-born chemist Tzanko Tzanov is working to make aseptic fabric using a combination of zinc nanoparticles, enzymes and ultrasounds. "The combination ... resists 70 high-temperature laundry cycles" and offers a "better antimicrobial effect," he said. Such fabric could be used for hospital gowns and linen.
