Sasol's upcoming expansion in Louisiana means that for the first time the plant will produce chemicals including paraffin, which is used in laundry detergent. The expansion includes a $7 billion ethane cracker and a $14 billion gas-to-liquids facility to be completed in 2020. The GTL facility, which will produce the chemicals, will use natural gas as a feedstock, this article notes.
