Unfinished insurance investigation could delay demolition of Harmon Hotel in Las Vegas

Demolition plans for the unfinished Harmon Hotel building in Las Vegas may be delayed, because more time is needed to finish an investigation on a $393.8 million insurance claim. Another hearing on the issue is scheduled for Dec. 6. Construction of the building, which was expected to be part of an $8.5 billion project, was halted after the discovery of problems with its steel reinforcements. When the demolition does occur, the hotel is expected to be taken down floor by floor.
