Some Educators Criticize Microsoft Settlement Deal

Concern is growing in the education world over Microsoft's agreement to settle private lawsuits against it by giving more than $1 billion worth of software, refurbished PCs and other equipment to some of the poorest schools in the U.S. Critics have said the deal is self-serving for Microsoft and have expressed concern that giving old computers to poor schools will widen the digital divide.
