As for-profit companies like Intel and Microsoft recognize the potential inherent in offering very inexpensive laptops to developing nations, they are creating competition for the nonprofit One Laptop Per Child, but OLPC founder Nicholas Negroponte does not mind. "My goal is not selling laptops. OLPC is not in the laptop business. It's in the education business."
