Iraq, Shell, Mitsubishi forge $17B gas-development deal

Iraq has signed a $17 billion natural gas exploration deal with Royal Dutch Shell and Mitsubishi. Under the terms, the companies will gather, process and sell gas from three fields in Iraq's Basra province. Iraq is now a "substantial part of Royal Dutch Shell's portfolio in the Middle East," said Shell CEO Peter Voser.
