Kindergartners are getting heavier overall, study finds

A study in Pediatrics shows that about 40% of kindergartners had a BMI in the 75th percentile or above, an increase from 25% in the 1970s and 1980s. Researchers said the most significant weight gain was seen among Hispanic children and black girls.
