Calderon says Mexican drug trade here to stay

The bloody six-year campaign to break the stranglehold of organized crime in Mexico has essentially reached a stalemate, with outgoing President Felipe Calderon saying there is no way to end the drug trade. President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto said he plans to downsize the federal police, which have been leading Calderon's efforts to take on transnational crime organizations.
