Cost not an indicator of effectiveness in security software

Enterprises are wasting their money on ineffective antivirus software that almost universally fails to recognize new malware, according to a report from Imperva. The security firm tested 40 different antivirus products and found that not a single one was able to detect one of 82 new malware files, and even the best software needed weeks to get up to date. The company found the two most effective products were the free solutions Avast and Emisoft, indicating it's possible to have robust security without breaking the bank.
