DCP responds to storage-tank foes' questions about propane surplus

DCP Midstream's proposed 22 million-gallon propane storage tank in Searsport, Maine, might not be needed, given the overabundance of domestic propane, some citizens said. Opponents said the company might eventually turn the facility into an export terminal, which would mean greater truck traffic and more safety risks in the area. "In the current market environment, I can see why those questions would be asked. But that's not what we're trying to do now. We're trying to get a permit to bring import here," said DCP Midstream's director of Northeast sales, John Pratt.
