EPA's biofuel rule for refineries faces suit from API

The Environmental Protection Agency's decision to require refineries to mix 1.28 billion gallons of biodiesel into transportation fuels in 2013 is facing a lawsuit from the American Petroleum Institute. The ruling "could raise the costs of making diesel fuel and should be reduced," said Bob Greco, downstream director at API. Scams associated with "renewable identification numbers" complicate the problem, he added.
