Finland ranks No. 1 in education

Finland has the top education system in the world, according to a ranking of developed countries calculated for the education firm Pearson. Other top systems under the rankings include those in South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Lower-ranked countries -- based on students' scores on exams that assess proficiency in maths, science, literacy and other subjects -- include Mexico, Brazil and Indonesia.
