Kan. ethanol plant signs up for Syngenta technology

The Bonanza BioEnergy ethanol plant in Garden City, Kan., has signed a commercial agreement to use Syngenta North America's Enogen technology. The Enogen system reduces the need for enzymes and other inputs during dry grind ethanol production, Syngenta said. "By working across broad ranges of temperature and pH levels, Enogen corn creates flexibility for ethanol plants that helps them capture increased levels of throughput or cost savings based on market conditions," said David Witherspoon, Syngenta's head of renewable fuels.
