The "Focus in High School" series shows teachers how to refocus the way they teach high school mathematics by emphasizing the use of reasoning and sense making. The first title, "Focus in High School Mathematics: Reasoning and Sense Making" was published in 2009, followed by titles on equity, geometry, statistics and probability, algebra and technology. Each focuses on students' reasoning and sense making, which are at the center of all mathematical learning and understanding, and emphasizes the importance of both in any high school mathematics curriculum.
