Sandy caused damage to an estimated 230,000 vehicles, NICB says

The National Insurance Crime Bureau has estimated the number of vehicles damaged by Hurricane Sandy and its remnants to be at least 230,000. The estimate is based on auto-claims data from the Insurance Services Office. Sandy-related auto claims in New York totaled 130,000, while New Jersey recorded 60,000 claims, the data show.
