Bipartisan group of lawmakers seeks change to small-business accounting proposal

A bipartisan group of 71 legislators wants to change a small-business tax reform proposal introduced in March by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., that would push small businesses off the cash accounting method. The proposal would be unnecessarily complex for small businesses, the group maintains. The AICPA also opposes the proposed limitation on the use of the cash method of accounting.
