Burger King maps growth plan in France

Burger King returned to France last year after shutting 40 units and exiting the market in 1997. Now, the chain aims to take on leader McDonald's and grab 20% of the country's fast-food business, said Jose Cil, president of Burger King's Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The company, which will open its fourth store in France next month, has sealed a joint venture deal with Bertrand Holding Co. and Naxicap Partners to speed expansion in the coming years.
