N.Y. designs system to track patients during evacuations

New York state demonstrated its new patient tracking system for use during emergencies at a Manhattan health facility this month. The Evacuation of Facilities in Disasters System, or e-FINDS, designed by the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, monitors nursing home residents and hospital patients during evacuations through pre-printed bracelets that are scanned into the state's Health Commerce System.
