Publix might be eyeing second store in Raleigh, N.C., area

Publix Super Markets might be considering a site for its second store in the Raleigh, N.C., region as part of an aggressive expansion in the state. Morgan Property Group is working to rezone 12 acres for a shopping center that would include a grocery measuring less than 50,000 square feet. "It is intended to be a small, neighborhood center," said Jeff Surrency, Morgan's executive vice president of development. "It's essentially going to service ... 11,000 to 15,000 people."
