White House sees legislation as best solution for immigration, says spokesman

President Barack Obama may consider using executive action to address deportation concerns, but a broad overhaul of the immigration system must be accomplished by Congress, according to White House spokesman Josh Earnest. In 2012, the Obama administration said it would discontinue deportation of some immigrants who entered the country illegally as children if they comply with certain requirements. However, this process would not address those who immigrated as adults, or issues with the overall immigration system, this article says.
