Gene-specific compounds to lead development of anti-cancer drugs

Thousands of new drug compounds will be available within the next six years for treating cancer, saving the lives of millions but increasing the National Health Service's drugs outlay, a U.K. newspaper concludes. Many of the new drugs expected to be created by 2010 will be aimed at genetic tumor abnormalities, according to The Observer's investigation.
