Opinion: Bare library shelves discourage student reading

Baltimore's school library system is "shamefully deficient," writes Baltimore public high school teacher Michael Corbin, whose building has no library or librarian. Even though school may be the only place where low-income children have access to vital reading experiences, the city's schools do too little to provide the necessary resources to encourage literacy, according to Corbin.
