First Wind is moving forward on Mass. wind-farm project

First Wind continues to work for the approval of a wind farm in Brimfield, Mass., despite the town Board of Selectmen's decision to reject a $30,000 fee for a preliminary study, according to John Lamontagne, the company's director of corporate communications. "There's been a lot of uproar from folks, but it's still pretty darn early," Lamontagne said. Meanwhile, the company has been conducting tours at its wind farm in Stetson, Maine, in an effort to show that fears about noisy turbines are unfounded.
