Digital leads Chinese ad surge

Measured media spending in China is forecast to increase 15.2% to $54 billion in 2011, making it one of the world's fastest growing advertising environment, says a report by WPP's MEC China. It should jump another 17% in 2012. Pursuit of individualism and social media seen in the rapid rise of blogs and the Chinese version of Twitter, called Weibo, fuel the trend.
