House panel asks CFPB for information on its spending

The House Financial Services Committee has requested details from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau about its increased budget request. The agency has asked the Federal Reserve for $28 million more than the $142 million that is budgeted. "What do they plan to use the money for?" asked Jeff Emerson, deputy chief of staff for the House panel. "That's a pretty significant increase."
