Research looks at GIP's role in glycemic control

A study in Diabetes of 10 healthy adult males revealed that glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide infusion boosts glucagon responses during hypoglycemia and euglycemia, without affecting insulin secretion. Experts also found that GIP increases insulin secretion during hyperglycemia by more than twofold, but did not appear to affect glucagon response.
