The Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily prohibited BP from federal contracts because of its "lack of business integrity" in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The EPA said that the suspension, which covers contracts including new Gulf drilling leases, is "standard practice" following criminal acts. The company entered a guilty plea to criminal misconduct over the incident earlier in November. BP Finance Director Brian Gilvary had said that if a blanket ban was put in place, the company may rethink its strategy in the U.S.
