N.Y. health commissioner proposes infection-control changes

N.Y. health commissioner Dr. Richard F. Daines has proposed a task force to examine interdepartmental communications to avoid situations like the recent case in which possible hepatitis C infections went unreported to patients for three years. Another proposal would try to coordinate the work of officials who investigate public health scares, medical malpractice suits and the professional conduct of providers.
