Verizon Wireless plans LTE tests

Verizon Wireless has announced that it will conduct tests next year of its long-term-evolution technology as it looks to boost speeds of its wireless network. In September, the carrier's parents, Verizon Communications and Vodafone, said they were working to develop a common mobile-network technology that would enable customers to roam from one service to the other.
