Maine providers participate in e-visits pilot program

Doctors at selected medical practices in Bangor and Presque Isle, Maine, will be conducting electronic visits with their patients as part of a program initiated by the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield based in the state and the Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. The e-visits initiative "provides yet another way for individuals to interact with their physician for non-urgent health issues," gives patients easier access to their physicians and saves time for both the patient and doctor, a doctor at a Bangor hospital said.
