Concerns emerge about Europe's rules for derivatives market

An amendment to a draft of the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation is sparking concerns that it might allow exchanges to build monopolies in the derivatives-trading market. Insiders said the change could allow clearinghouses, which are generally owned by exchanges, to reject derivatives trades that are conducted on competitors' trading venues.
