Gas-powered vehicles are big in the BRICs

Natural gas-powered vehicles are taking off in emerging economies including China, India and Brazil, with the bulk of the world's 11.4 million gas-powered cars being driven by motorists in developing nations, according to the International Association for Natural Gas Vehicles. Experts say that government backing and subsidies will be necessary if the U.S. is to create a viable refueling infrastructure for CNG-powered consumer vehicles.
